Bengaluru: Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi is trying to take over rural and small towns in the country. As part of this, 2000 exclusive MI showrooms will be opened in rural areas. The latest move comes in the face of a shrinking sales of xiaomi. Following the recent opening of 1000 MI stores, the company was looking to spur trade through third party stores.
xiaomi officials hope this will help the company increase its sales by 50 per cent by the end of this year. 'We are planning to open 3,000 more stores within the next 18 months,' Mano Jain, Managing Director of xiaomi India, said.
