Washington: World Bank chief executive officer Crystalina Georgieva is to be named head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), reports say. Crystalina is a native of Bulgaria. There was no sign of anyone contesting against her.
IMF Managing Editor Christine Lagarde has been appointed head of the European Central Bank. The IMF stated that India is one of the fastest growing economies in the world. IMF Communications Director Gerry Rice said the country has undergone a number of significant reforms over the past five years.
