India to spend USD 130 billion to modernise forces

Delhi: The Indian government is trying to modernize the Armed Forces by investing US $ 130 billion in the face of various security threats. Officials say that efforts are now underway to double the Army's combat capabilities over the next five to seven years. Sophisticated weapons, missiles, fighter jets, submarines and warships will be purchased in the coming years, exclusively for the Army, Navy and Air Force.

There is also a move to buy the 110 multirail fighter aircraft for the Air Force. China has recently made clear that it is making progress to modernize its air and naval forces.
